When the great Firas Abu-Jaber admits a Lamborghini Gallardo is better than his own the TLCB Elves get still pointier ears than they already have. A 16-year old builder named Cars Lover, a German TFOL and newcomer on MOCpages, has built some awesome sports cars lately. As Firas puts it: “You have a GREAT future in building lego cars, so keep on that.”

Lamborghini Fighting Bull
Check out this Raging Bull of a build courtesy of Dohoon Kim over on Flickr. The build looks seamless – the way those complicated Lamborghini lines flow is seriously impressive. Dohoon promises to post more photos of his Italian thoroughbred soon, but until then enjoy this teaser. The Elves can’t wait to see the rump on this!

Admittedly, ‘Best Car Ever!’ (or Best Car Evarr!!11!) is a phrase banded around a lot on the interweb, but this MOC could well be it. The incredible studs-up giant in the picture above took three years to design digitally, and another two to build. Polo-Freak is the orchestrator behind this truly epic project, and such is its scale it has generated its own Special Themes thread over on Eurobricks.
The Lamborghini Countach was actually quite a poor car, but that didn’t stop it becoming the poster car of the late ’70s to early ’80s, and in 3D form it’s even more impressive. Polo-Freak has recreated every Bertone-designed detail, from the teledial alloys to the tip of the huge rear wing. See the full gallery of pictures on Eurobricks at the aforementioned link.

This epic early Lamborgini Countach comes from Model Team masters the Bing-Bong Brothers on Flickr and MOCpages. Before the excess of the eighties diluted the shape with wings and body-kits, the Countach was almost an elegent-looking supercar. And one that paved the way for some explosive successors. Well, it is a Lamborghini, after all. It’s a Technic Supercar too, with the full suite of steering, engine, gearbox (5+R) and suspension – the latter by pushrods, no less. Francisco Hartley is your guide to its many secrets.
This Lamborghini SV by Brickshelf’s Spiderbrick features all the usual Technic goodies (suspension, all-wheel-drive etc.), but it also features something we’ve never seen before; working airbags. Yes, this car really will deploy both driver and passenger airbags in the event of a frontal collision. Controlled by a Mindstorms NXT and pneumatic system, we’re not sure whether the ‘bags inflate suddenly via stored pressure, or whether the driver will knock themselves out on the steering wheel and awake to find a gradually inflating balloon pressing against their gentleman’s area, but either way it’s one of the most innovative ideas we’ve seen in Lego form. We kick off the week with a submission suggestion by two TLCB readers who have done some Elving of their own. Senator Chinchilla, who can be found on both MOCpages and Flickr, has constructed this very yellow Lamborghini Gallardo special edition. You can see all the photos via either of the links above, and if you’ve found a creation our Elves have missed you can see if it meets TLCB’s criteria here.
The Elves are still Transformers-mad, so the Elf that discovered today’s creation is now something of a hero with his colleagues. We like it too, so it was yellow smarties all round.
This magnificent Lamborghini Diablo is the work of the very talented Marin Stipkovic. Marin’s Lego Lambo looks good on its own, but as you can see here it also transforms into an excellent Autobot Transformer. You can check it out in both forms at either MOCpages or Flickr, where Marin’s included a video showing the trickery involved.
*A clever title yes, but also a flimsy pretext to include a Futurama link.
Probably the first ‘Supercar’, whatever the guys at Ferrari think, is something that didn’t wear a prancing horse on the front. It wore a bull. The Lamborghini Countach was the wildest poster car of the ’70s and ’80s, and therefore maybe the wildest car ever. It was also fairly rubbish, being impossible to drive or see out of. But perhaps that’s what made it Super. Rolling Bricks recreates the ’70s icon using a brilliantly simple palette of regular white pieces. Lamborghini may now be owned by the Germans, and as a result it can now actually make a car that works, but if you want something a little more Italian (i.e. unreliable and impossible to drive!) you’ve got to go back a few years to this; the awesome late ’90s Diablo.
Newcomer Epsilon Eta has made one heck of an entrance. This is only his second vehicle uploaded to MOCpages, and it’s a stunner. Epsilon’s Model Team recreation of the last Italian Lamborghini is one of the most realistic supercar models you’re likely to see. Check it out on MOCpages at the link.

Anyone who has been following the TLCB will recall the fantastic Lamborghini Diablo blogged early this year. And will probably recall being mightily impressed too. But little did we know that builder Epsilon Eta had a surprise in store. This was no ordinary model, but in fact it was a W.I.P of a transforming version. The incredible recreation of Transformers’ Sunstreak can be viewed and dribbled over/envied via his MOCpage. Epsilon has also produced a handy little video to demonstrate his genius; click play below to watch.

We’ve blogged quite a few classic vehicles here at The Lego Car Blog recently, so to bring a bit of balance we’d like to post a duo of cars so newly-released we’ve not even seen them on the road yet. Luckily though, the Elves rediscovered the page of our very promising Featured TFOL Alexander Paschoaletto, and his two latest cars; the 2014 Lamborghini Huracán, and the 2014 Subaru WRX STI*.
Making modern cars is getting harder, with lots of curves and angles appearing on everything from city runabouts to limited-run exotica, but Alexander has managed to pull off the curves found on these two nicely. See more of both creations via the links to Alexander’s pages.
*Our American readers may think the Subaru should read ‘2015’. Our marketing department refuses to time travel.
Our usual articles here at TLCB publicise only new creations. Today though we take a trip back in time to look at the creations of one of the all time greatest Lego vehicle builders, someone who has featured not only on the top Lego websites, but also the likes of Top Gear and Jalopnik. He is of course, the amazing Firas Abu Jaber. In our second ‘Top 5′ list our collaborators Head Turnerz suggest their five favourite Firas creations. Over to the the Head Turnerz crew…
Much of the online Lego community know of the legendary Firas Abu Jaber, and most will have a favourite or two of his creations. Here at Head Turnerz we have teamed up with The Lego Car Blog to give you another HT x TLCB Top 5, this time to showcase the very best of what Firas built over several incredible years.
In fifth place is, without doubt, the best recreation of the iconic Mitsubishi Evolution X that you’ll ever find made from LEGO. We remember when we first saw Firas’ creation posted on the MOCpages home page – and we nearly fell off our chairs. With 15 stud wide body work and ingeniously recreated disc brakes Firas’ Evo is jam-packed with details, making it not just one of the best Evos, but one of the best Lego cars ever made.
What sort of Top 5 of the best Firas cars would this be without one of his famous Lamborghinis? Coming in at number four is this stunning Lamborghini Gallardo SE built way back in January 2009. The body shaping is – as with every Firas build – perfect, and with the freakishly great eye for detail that he has, this Lego Lamborghini does not let the famous marque down.
K.I.T.T could possibly be the most well known T.V/movie car of all time and Firas did not disappoint when he ‘dropped’ this one, again back in 2009. Firas’ model features everything the real ‘82 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am K.I.T.T had, including the infamous scan-bar. Of course, everything opens, including removable T-tops to complete the convertible roof!
The Pagani Zonda C12 S is one of the most beautiful Italian cars ever made, Firas somewhat cheesily describing it as “just like a beautiful girl”. We can see what he means though, and his Model Team version is just as eye-catching. The curves, his unique building techniques, and those remarkable headlights – it’s how a Lego car should be built. Firas even constructed his Zonda so that all the ‘elements’ were detachable – see how he did it at the link.
Taking the top spot in our Top 5 Firas Abu Jaber creations list is none other than his incredible Ford GT – possibly the greatest Model Team car ever made, and the most popular car in the history of MOCpages. Some may disagree with our previous choices, but we think we that all will agree that this is the car that cemented Firas’ reputation as the best Lego vehicle builder of his time. A legend if you will. This GT was so realistic it was even featured on the official Top Gear website! It’s the perfect MOC.
Some of you reading this may not have had the privilege to see first hand Firas’ builds show up on your ‘most recent’ listing on MOCpages, but to have witnessed it at the time was an absolute honour. Firas was and still is the true G.O.A.T of Lego car building. We think we speak for all when we say we hope to see him make a return some day…

This beautiful Lamborghini Aventador marks the return of one of the internet’s most revered vehicle builders, the brilliantly talented Firas Abu Jaber.
Firas has been away for a number of years, but an invitation to submit models for the next No Starch Press Lego book publication enticed him back into the community. There will be more to see when the aforementioned book is released next year, but until then you can see more of Firas’ spectacular Aventador by visiting his Flickr page.
The book in which Firas features is being written by Dennis Glaasker and Dennis Bosman, both of whom have appeared here over the years, and is entitled ‘The Art of Lego Scale Modelling’. It’s due for release via our friends at No Starch Press in 2015 and we’ll bring you more details as soon as we can. Anyway, this brilliantly blue Lamborghini Murcielago SV is the work of previous bloggee Alexander Paschoaletto and there’s a whole gallery of great images to view on MOCpages.
This amazing looking vehicle is a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster – an ultra high-tech concept/limited-run hypercar created to celebrate the marque’s 50th anniversary. Lego car-building legend Firas Abu-Jaber has recreated the extraordinary supercar from what appears to be a bucket filled entirely with red sloped pieces. This stunning Lego Technic recreation of the infamous Lamborghini Aventador supercar was discovered on Brickshelf today. It’s been constructed by previous bloggee Polo-Freak and it’s not only one of the best looking Technic Supercars that we’ve seen in a very long time, it also includes a raft of Technic functionality.

It seems like just the other day that we posted an incredible creation from car building legend and TLCB Master MOCer Firas Abu-Jaber. And that’s because it was. But he’s been busy, and just a few short days later this arrived at TLCB Towers courtesy of an excited TLCB Elf.
It’s Lamborghini’s 2014 Veneno coupe, following on from Firas’ own roadster roadster version publicised here earlier in the year, and it is – as you can see – quite spectacular. Perhaps the only part of the Volkswagen group of companies that will remain unaffected by the emissions scandal is Lamborghini. Customers buying a 690bhp, 6.5 litre, V12 engined car, probably won’t be surprised that its emissions are quite high and its fuel economy is best measured in miles to the pint. Still, there are some compensations. You can top 200mph when you pop down to the shops.
Nick Barrett’s version of the Aventador might be even faster, as it lacks the aerodynamic drag caused by wing mirrors. However, that’s being very picky, especially when you get your eyes into the details of this 1:10 scale monster MOC. The car is roughly 25 studs wide (or 1/4 of a SHIP) and the Technic axles used for the windscreen wipers don’t look out of place. Nick’s car has all of the working features that you’d expect from this Master MOCer. It includes Hand of God steering for playability and Nick’s take on the Aventador’s rear windscreen.
